People often ask why butterflies feature in our logo and what they represent.

From the early days of the business, we noticed butterflies appearing regularly—at properties, in clients’ homes, and around us as we visited properties and worked. Clients and colleagues would often remark on it, and it became a shared point of conversation: when they appeared, how many we saw, and even what it might mean on the rare occasions they did not.

In 2018, this association took on a deeper meaning when my husband passed away. As he was taken into care, the funeral home left a monarch butterfly on the bed—a small gesture that stayed with me. From that point, butterflies became a lasting symbol within the business, representing the people we have connected with in the past, those we serve today, and those we will meet in the future. On two further occasions of loss, butterflies again featured prominently, reinforcing their significance for me.

I would not describe myself as particularly spiritual; however, when a theme appears with such consistency, it is difficult not to acknowledge it. In some cultures, monarch butterflies represent personal growth through metamorphosis, and their long migration is associated with hope, endurance, and freedom.

Whatever our individual beliefs, we can all agree that butterflies are strikingly beautiful.
